Tomorrow’s forecast for Burkeville, VA is expected t be 103 degrees. Yep, you read it right. ONE HUNDRED AND THREE DEGREES. This is a dangerously high temperature for humans and equines, alike. We are on our summer schedule, which means that all of our seniors and Cushing’s guys and gals will be under the fans all day and turned out at night. This allows us to keep a close eye on everyone during the worst of the heat. We’ll also keep those buckets and tanks topped with fresh, cool water and will be keeping a watchful eye on the younger guys and gals in the field shelters. While this heat wave should not last more than a few days, we are taking this very seriously and we hope that all of our horse and human friends stay safe out there.
